hardly "new bands" are they? even to vfests standards. nice to see magnet so far below freckin kinky and inme - errrrr - how da feck does that work? PERSPECITVE BOOKERS......just cause you read nme and mojo dont mean arse.

Re: V Festival adds new bands stage to the mix

who the fuck's heard of magnet? InME are much more popular. It's simply a matter of who will attract more fans. At a festival that has Muse headlining, I'd suggest InMe.

the bees and longview are welcome additions as are joy zipper and the stands.
is it a stage or a tent? because if its a stage where is it going to go?
the past 2 years in my experience there have been issues hearing the nme stage during the day if you are more than 100 yards or so away.
its wrong to knock it though as it adds more choice to the people who are going to v. which isnt a bad thing, and it means there is more of a chance for people seeing someone who isnt 'mainstream.' or who they might never have heard of.

Am I the only person who thinks the V bill is good this year?

Re: V Festival adds new bands stage to the mix

Nope, I think it's great actually, I'm going to Chelmsford on the day Muse/Dido are headlining and there are more bands there that I really want to see than there were on any single day at Glastonbury.

Re: V Festival adds new bands stage to the mix

Muse were the best thing I saw all weekend at Glastonbury - I hope they're still playing V although you could understand if they didn't after what happened on Monday.

I do think the lineups great hence I'm going. But I don't like the festival as a whole, too commercial and not a great atmosphere but my last chance to see the Pixies.

But yes, new bands stages are always dubious...Easyworld and the Bees, not exactly recently discovered talent. But still, be good to see easyworld again!

good to see Magnet on there, can't work out why he's so far down the bill, should be one of the highlights of the weekend. Cool to see Colour of Fire getting a break too, worthy of more attention. Hope of the States though...do us a favour, terrible band.

I think all of the New Bands stages this year have been wicked, both here and at Glastonbury. I'd much rather see most of the bands playing on the smaller stages as opposed to standing for hours somewhere near the back to see a headliner. Wouldnt mind The Strokes live though.

new bands should mean new - not signed and doing quite well thankyou very much. I can understand everyone's vehemency, loathing or apathy and understanding for most of the so called 'new bands' here but I draw the line at Tim Booth. I also agree that Magent should be higher - but how about The Crimea - methinks they deserve a tad more appreciation. anyhoo - see you all there!
