In August 2001, the future Envelopes (four Swedish guys and one French girl), gathered for the first time on the Swedish seaside, inaugurating a holiday recording process that would go on for more than 3 years before they finaly landed in England together in March 2005.

The first thing that was said about their song 'Glue' on the radio is that it sounds like a trip on a twisted bicycle. Twisted, wicked, wonky. It never stops. Envelopes stand happily in their creative chaos and the entropy of the universe keeps growing.

The sad thing is that one of the Envelopes lives in Paris, one in Malmö, and the others in Stockholm. With the help of Eurolines buses and Goodjet planes, Envelopes manage to record an other demo in 2002 winter and spring.

Then, they gave their first concerts in Paris at Pop In and Glaz’art with the MuscloRecords team and end up by winning the last year Benicassim demo contest and go to Spain for free.

Now they are in North Yorkshire for a while to record their second album, surrounded by weird animal sounds and giant dead trees.

They put out 2 EPs, one on Rex Records (XL Recordings) last summer under the name of their ancient band The Nicotines, and one this may 2005 called « It is the law » .

Their first album Demon will be out at the end of the summer. Then, we don’t know what will happen. May be everyone will die in the van probably somewhere on the M1. Burgers and french fries all over the place.
