The Silent Type
From Limekiln's website:
Forming in the latter portion of 2000, Richmond, Virginia's THE SILENT TYPE began as a solo recording project of singer/songwriter Nathan Altice who hoped to someday blossom the effort into a fully functioning, multiple member band. Over the course of the next year and a half, THE SILENT TYPE cycled through a rotating cast of band members, with Altice managing to nail down a lineup long enough to record an impressive demo, as well as material for a split release with fellow Richmonders GREGOR SAMSA.
Finally, in the early months of 2002, THE SILENT TYPE solidified into an actual band with a consistent roster. With Altice joined by Amber Blankenship (piano/violin/vocals), Billy Mutter (bass), and Jared Laine (drums), the band became what had always been the goal. Altice quickly brought this cohesive group to a new level for the band and songs began to pour forth. By late 2004, THE SILENT TYPE had finished what would become their debut album, "Of Writing/Of Violence," tapping not only the canon of iconic indie rock influences for beautiful melodicism, but also incorporating a unique quality of songwriting and musicianship.
As the band ventures toward Summer/Fall 2005, THE SILENT TYPE plan to embark on tours throughout the United States in support of their glorious achievement.
