try savage garden for gothrave, velevet underground for decent (ish) music and a decent crowd. Sneaky dees can be real good though i've seen some shocking bands there too. Supermarket is quite nice and plenty of hipsters a bit more expensive but cool.

You shoul dgo to the Rogers Centre too and see a game of baseball, just get your tickets off a scalper/tout on the walk up from the main road/ rail station to the stadium, for a just an average divisional team they should only cost 15 bucks, i paid 40 last time i saw the Yanks.

try and catch some bands at sneaky dees
see a film at cineforum (it's a 'cinema' in some guy's front room)
it's a really beautiful city, you won't be stuck for things to do. the Rough Guide is also really good as well.

Queen Street West is (was?) one of the best areas for bars n stuff.
Check out the Casa Loma as well. A castle in the middle of Toronto? Weird.

that appeared to have been broken into by a dj. He was playing detroit techno and drawing quite a crowd. Good stuff.
