Dvd > Mpg/Avi / Social // Drowned In Sound

DVD > mpg/avi

Am I being really stupid? I can't find a god programme to convert DVD movies to avi or mpg formats. I've found stuff to go the other way but not the way I want (DVDShrink only makes the DVD smaller...)

any suggestions?

god programs are difficult to come by...

  ImTOO DVD Ripper does what you require though i have never tried it myself.
  
  Also you can use DVDDecrypter to get the DVD's .VOB files onto the hard disc.Then use AGKnot to convert these .VOBs to .AVIs.

Nero showtime works pretty well, could download the free trial and crack it, you can set the priority higher than other programs too so it goes pretty fast. Hope that helps?
