Oklahoma rocks! Flaming Lips up for state's rock anthem

Yes! Yet another poll in today's current climate of perennial polling, though of a slightly less conventional bent this time...
The Flaming Lips have made the final shortlist for Oklahoma's official state rock song (the first state to appoint such an honour) with 'Do You Realize?', taken from 2002's Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Other artists up for the honour are Elvis,The Ventures, and erm... The All-American Rejects.
Other nominees who fell by the wayside include Shiny Toy Guns, Thin Lizzy, and (somehow) Cradle of Filth for 'Tonight In Flames'.

nothing really to do with this story
but I do love the Flaming Lips, and I really hope they drop the animal costumes, balloons etc from their live shows. Great the first few times you see them, but after almost ten years I hope they try something different when they next release a record/tour.

I love The Flaming Lips but can take or leave Do You Realize? where as After Midnight is fantastic!
