Place your bets... now!

Who's gonna be the most hard-rockin', bombastic, spazziest, wildest popular beat combo of 2005? Come on kids, put your money where their mouths are... The Others? Towers Of London? Bloc Party? Maximo Park? The week after next's cover stars on you-know-what?

After hearing this download-only single you're not going to care about anyone but Death From Above 1979. In under two minutes they lay waste to this year's would-be movers and shakers with planet-sized drums and the kinda fuzzed-up 'n' fucked-up rock action previously dished up only by Mudhoney, circa when you rockers were still in Pampers. Only DFA1979 speed it all up, turning The Rock into some kinda Hell's Angels disco, facial hair and grease stains a must.

I fuckin' LOVE this shit - it's utterly demented and completely without competition in The Rock stakes. Get it.

Indeed, get it for free here.

Awesome band, I have 'Dead Womb' from their Heads Up EP on my phone as a ringtone, scares the shit out of old grannies if I get a call while in Asda.

Death From Above 1979 - Pull Out

Holy mother of god, I think I am in love. This is A W E S O M E

Death From Above 1979 - Pull Out

Yeah my friend discovered them by accident about a year ago at the Crowbar. They fucking, fucking good. They're playing the garage in Feb, but you all probably know that off their website huh. If ever band inspired devotion...

kinda don't want them to get big though, I like standing three feet away from the noise in tiny venues. They're nice guys too.

Death From Above 1979 - Pull Out

Romantic Rights was a phenomenal tune. Is the album properly out over here yet?

Death From Above 1979 - Pull Out

Yeah, I dig it, too. But I still can't believe they did it without guitars. I'd have never guessed; I mean it sounds like there're guitars. My mouth's agape: How'd dey do dat? Or maybe it's just me. DFA1979 sure make a helluva lot a noise without the axes, I kin only imagine what sort of wall of sound they'd have if they started using geetars, too, eh?
