Hmmm... looks like the quick-fix marketing men have gatecrashed the party again. Sorry, where was I?

Oh yeah, somewhere in Sheffield.

It's hard not to feel sorry for Milburn: if the legend is correct, they actually inspired that other lot from High Green into writing songs and taking themselves seriously. But just like with the egg and the chicken, one grows wings and legs before shooting off into the sunset, whereas the other gets boiled, dropped, and opened by young children once a year.

Where does that leave Milburn? Counting down the days - all 278 of them - until Friday becomes Good again and someone rescues them from the shelf of obscurity.

The song? Yeah, it's okay, and if you've a half-decent broadband connection you'll have no doubt heard it at least a year ago. At the same time, though, it's hardly worth crossing the road for. Even if you're a chicken.

  • Milburn 5 / 10
  • how about,

    you suck my eggs...

i like them, im standing my ground

    • misquoting

cheshire cat *grin* immediately put me off this song - 'cheshire cat smile' just feels wrong.

      • and the songs sound like?

horrible review. rather than discuss the hype, lack of hype, or contextual surroundings of a band, why not discuss their music? i fall in the category of those that downloaded it ages ago, but still, this is not a review.
        turrible.

        • a bit like that other band

          maybe...

  • On songs like this

It's hard to write more than a paragraph though.

    • i like the song

but like you said, heard it a long time ago.

not the best review ever is it? still maybe you didnt want to devote much time to it..showing your dislike for it? im rambling

      • well...

its kind of appropriate not discussing the music here though, given that its so utterly forgettable.

        x

        • The thing is

though, while I take the point about not discussing the music, what is there to say other than sounds like a second rate version of youknowwho?
