Justin Timberlake: Cry Me A River
He was a flunky, lackey muppet - mostly in a mediocre boyband, but occasionally in some wannabe strumpet. Doesn’t look too good does it? But clearly it was he that was bringing the hip-hop beats to the streets of his little world. It was going to be him that was going to build upon his unfeasibly and unfairly large fanbase. Damn him. He so should’ve failed.
Instead he’s actually managed to ‘Justify’ himself in his work that among other essential things (decent tunes, lamo lyrics, sexy promo vids) has the vital production of the Neptunes/Timbaland behind it. Obviously that’s wicked.
It’s lo-fi but mo’fo, all at once; it’s digital but orchestral, at the same time; it’s credible, but still naggingly pretentious. You have to give him the benefit of the doubt, especially seeing that some of the best in hip-hop have taken time out to help the urchin out of the hovel boyband territory that he trod so efficiently for so many years.
This level of success and quality splits boybands up. More, please, goddammit.

Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
I'm neither a teenage girl nor gay, but despite being the Velcro-headed muppet out of them Backstreet Boys wannabes, Justin's solo stuff is actually not bad.
I'm going to lash myself a hundred times while saying Hail Mary's now. Bye.-

agreement. was unsure about it at first, but caught myself dancing to it the other day and realised that yes, i do like it very much. the michael jackson-isms are annoying though.

Re: Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
I am weeeeeelll past my teens and I too have fallen for the little shiny-faced crooner. I really like this song... is there something wrong with me? But hey, when you have some of the top songwriters in the bizness working with you, ya get good songs.-
Re: Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
look, we all like it, everyone likes it. No-one needs feel bad about it. And he's played bass with the Flaming Lips. And he seemed to appear to know and like that song...
although he also professed a liking of Good Charlotte on CD:UK last Saturday. So he's not God then.
which was lucky. Cos that'd made Brittany Spears the Virgin (haw haw) Mary. And then we'd see Justin in a Pope-mobile... (copyright Bill Hicks)
